Sony Rewards Program to Discontinue: Key Deadlines for Users
Sony has announced the impending closure of its Sony Rewards program, signaling the end of an era for participants. Effective immediately, Sony has ceased accepting new applicants into the program, marking a halt to new sign-ups.
The Sony Rewards program, operated in conjunction with Sony and PlayStation branded credit cards, will officially shut down on December 31, 2024. Until this date, users will retain access to their accounts via the Sony Rewards website and mobile application. They will be able to redeem accumulated points and manage their accounts, including submitting any bonus points and purchase credit request forms through the app.
A critical deadline for users to note is July 21, 2024. After this date, Sony will no longer accept physical bonus points or purchase credit request forms. It is advisable for participants to complete any pending transactions or redemptions before this cutoff to ensure a seamless process.
Importantly, the closure of the Sony Rewards program does not impact the PlayStation Stars program. PlayStation Stars, focused on loyalty rewards and digital collectibles, will continue to operate independently and remain unaffected by the discontinuation of Sony Rewards.
The Rewards program provided opportunities to accumulate points redeemable for a variety of items. While the program winds down, participants are encouraged to make the most of their accumulated points and ensure all necessary transactions are completed before the final deadline.
As the closure date approaches, Sony will continue to provide updates and support to users navigating the transition. For further information and updates, users can visit the Sony Rewards website or access the mobile application.
